+/- Control on GR

Is there a way I can deactivate (or repurpose) this control? Manual not real clear on this point. Right now when I touch either the + or the -, the shutter adjusts to give "proper" exposure. That's when I'm in "M" mode. Accidental touches are annoying me. Any help appreciated.

Hello seablister and welcome here.

If it was possible to set the function of the +/- button for the GXR (nothing, flash adj, exposure comp), I did not find similar adjustement on the GR.
That could be something to expect for a future firmware...

Thanks Habeascorpus. Someday, I'll figure out how to update the software using my Mac computer. Not been successful thus far.

Yes, this is a known issue. It seems that it comes from the uncompression of the file.
You can browse that forum and you may find a solution.
(my advice : to find a friend with a Windows PC to put on your SD card the firmware updating file)

I updated to v3.0 yesterday on my old iMac without difficulty (once I figured out what the "root file" was). Simply followed the directions on the Ricoh. My download extracted automatically.
