Ok, not my usual "landscape" style, but the high key light just had to be exploited.

Hidcote Manor Gardens, Gloucestershire.

It's an interesting high contrast B&W image, but I'm not quite sure about its upper part? It appears somewhat empty and maybe even unnecessary? Did you try a cropped version?

Sorry I was so absorbed in your image that I wrote in Spanish ... just wanted to say: I love this image ... looks like a special place designed by nature to sit and meditate. Congratulations!

The chair sits at the end of an archway of shrubs & vines, the contrast from the darkness of the archway to the "window" created by the plants just begs to be photographed. I had considered cropping out the upper vegetation, but it would have taken away the foliage "window", which was what cought my eye in the first instance.

Next time I'm in the area, I'll try a longer focal length shot looking down the archway, if I can persuade everyone to get out of the way

Continuing on the theme of High Key lighting, an "experimental" sepia version of one of the small buildings within Hidcote gardens.

Not quite sure if it "works" or not, C&C welcome.

David, the only (quite) disturbing thing for me is the roof falling into the sky on the top right side. There is missing some bordering element like the tree on the top left. Otherwise no objections. The technique is quite interesting and allows providing of unusual (though quite pleasant like in this case) results.

I see what you mean with regard to to the roof, a touch of re-processing required here methinks!

I was recently looking at some old sepia photographs, which had the "high key" effect to them, so perhaps my idea is not that original after all. I think I need a bit more parctice
