Thanks. The dark coloured car is an 1100 or 1300 produced by the British Motor Corporation (and later British Leyland) from 1962 to 1974. They were badge engineered by lots of famous and now defunct manufacturers owned by BMC or BL but from the bonnet I'm fairly sure this was either the 'common' Austin or Morris variant.
The light coloured car is a Renault - a Renault 6 I think - which was made from 1968 to 1980.
There is an endearing habit in the Western Isles of leaving cars wherever they give-up the ghost (ie die)..it's not so common here in the east but I do know where there is a Series 1 Land Rover in a similar state so I'll try to photograph that. Not so ecological but I expect the mice & spiders are happy!
I've no idea how the 1100 & 6 got where they are..they are a long way from any track and on the edge of a cultivated field.
Two more of our local wrecks. The B&W shots look like a Ford Anglia to me circa late 50s with MacPherson struts. The steering wheel (2 spoke) is the clue I think.
I think the colour shots are also a Ford. A bit older in this case...an early 50s Popular?
