Bushwalk

Just arrived home from a short holiday and decided to share these shots taken on our bushwalk. This area is destined to be razed for development, and holds a special place in me....I've been visiting and photographing here for many years now. Will be sad when
it's gone. Progress, progress, progress....so the story goes.. :(

Thank you for posting more pictures Marcus . I always enjoy seeing what you have to show . I love what you can do with black and white and If I knew how to do what you can do I would probably start doing BW as well . I respond most to the first picture on your post . Which one is your favorite ?
Jeff

Great set of shots, Marcus !
My fav are the details- shots full of interesting structures.

Thanks for sharing the photos with us, and I share your sadness to lose that beautiful place.

Cheers
JONIE

Hi Marcus,
#1 seems to hold the eye longer as it stumbles across the fallen tree and ito the carck of light and hint of a path beyond...
I also like the gnarled tree details...this set all works very well in b&w though!
Thanks for a glimps of a favourite place and, if we cannot preserve such places from the developers might, it is great to record it for future generations...
Andy

Marcus, Wiener must have read my mind somehow. Beside the whole set of wood structure studies I also like most the #1 shot. The fallen tree is a great advantage to its mood.
By the way, your BW processing corresponds very well with what can be seen here these rainy and foggy winter days.

The choice of B&W gives the photos a certain tinge of nostalgia and with your text of course sadness. Very good series, thanks
Peter

Marcus, your love for the place is showing in the photos - a nice set!
Again, I'm inclined to prefer colored images of landscape/nature, but as mentioned above, you certainly know how to use B&W. I think I like the last one the most, because it is a bit abstract, so the B&W serves it well..

Firstly, Thank you to Jeff, Jonie, Andy, Peter, Peter, and Quester for the wonderful comments.
This forum, the people here, never cease to amaze me with their positive, praising sentiments. Very encouraging......(us Ricoh users are a happy lot! :D )

BTW, (Jeff), my favorite is also the first(me thinks most of us do that; put our fave first :?: ), though I have soft spots for all of course, especially the textures.... :D

Marcus, your pictures show the beauty of this place... It is a pity that we are sacrificing another piece of nature to the "progress"... and of course the real question is if this is really a "progress" or something that, at the very end, will make us to regress

Thanks Gab...and yes, I 'm with you on that one, progress seems to go in reverse these days.....Funny, peculiar.... ;)

Very beautifull set Marcus .... upsettingly viewed being made even stronger as your images are soon to become an historical work :(

there is no more i can say - i just hope that all the machines involved in this destruction will fail to operate and that the materials used in the new development - will crumble to sand ;)

Kort

Thank you Kort....much appreciated.
Little thoughts of sabotage have not failed to cross my mind either....te, he, he
