Four shots of the present bridge at Bonar Bridge on the Kyle of Sutherland. This is the 3rd bridge to be built on this site and will be 40 years old this December.

Nice set Richard, I rather like the last photo with the reflection in the water below.

Not much traffic about, is it well used?

David,

Thanks. Didn't you see the car in #3? This used to be the lowest crossing point but now the A9 goes via the Dornoch Bridge so Bonar Bridge is relatively quiet. Apart from local traffic, through traffic heads NW or SE rather than the busier N - S route. Despite all this lack of traffic there was catering van near the bridge which served an excellent burger & cup of tea. During the 45 minutes I was in the area she had one other customer.

Richard,

Now you've pointed it out, I can see the car.....must have been hiding when I first looked :D

I think the quieter roads are much nicer to travel along and certainly better to photograph.

Perhaps we should start a 'post your bridges' topic, I'm sure I have a few [dozen] of Ironbridge in Coalbrookdale, I'll have a look tomorrow!

Bridges would be good! There was that striking image of the Forth Rail Bridge in the mist posted just last week...

Bridges would be great, indeed. There are some also in my archive.
Richard, from the photos above I particularly like the #1 for its composition.
