Last Saturday I spent all day shooting at fiance's uncle's birthday party. Although I like B&W photogrpahy, up to these days, I shot most of my photos only in color mode. Later I converted some of my photos to B&W in RAW editor.
This time I decided to take all photos directly in B&W mode. Of course, as a "natural" RAW shooter, I shoot in RAW + Fine BW JPEG. Surprisingly, the out of GRDII JPEGs don't look that bad in B&W mode (even at higher ISO). Of course, they are not even close to properly converted RAW files. But shooting in B&W mode gives the photographer an opportunity to think in B&W. And if the resolution does matter (large prints and crops) one can always process the RAW files to mimic the out of camera B&W JPEGs.
Here are some shots from that day. All of them are just resized and resharpened a bit after resizing.
