Big Air Package - Christo Exhibition

JONIE

New Member
All,

please find some pics from yesterday, when I visited the Christo- Exhibition in Oberhausen (Germany) named " Big Air Package".
It is a kind of balloon, 90 meters high and 50 m in diameter, that is installed in an old former gas holder.
I like this kind of Christo-Events very much and it is the second Christo event in that gas holder in Oberhausen, after the exhibition in 1999 named "the wall".

Regards,
Jochen

Very nice pictures of this installation, Jochen!
Seems to be a new edition of the 1968 documenta “Wurst”!

Like them all! The last one only makes sense once you have seen the first two...a good story sequence... :)

Hello Christian,

yes, it seems a little bit similar to the "Wurst"-installation of 1968. But this air- package is bigger, longer and one can step into it at the bottom; further it is installed into a former gas- holder.
It is really worth to be visited in Oberhausen.
Thanks for your friendly feedback,

Jochen

Many thanks for your friendly reply, Andy !
When you have the chance to come to the Ruhrgebiet-Area, you should try to visit that exhibition.
From Wien to Oberhausen...... that`s possible, or not ?

All the best,
Jochen

From the Netherlands it is a one day-trip to Oberhausen for you. I think, it is worth to visit the Christo-Event.
What about your bike-accident ? Are you o.k. again in the meantime ?

All the best,
Jochen

Hi Jochen,
Wien to Oberhausen must be possible! I actually fly over it on the 16th May on my way from Aberdeen to Vienna via Frankfurt. Sadly no time available for sightseeing that day though...
