It looks like a boletus a sort of very tasty edible mushrooms. I hope you picket it up, brought it home, cut to thin slices, dried, and used like a spice :!:
Sorry, a lot of our people are using to collect mushrooms here. It is great relaxation with a bit of adrenaline if you collect what you do not know for 100% sure.
Thanks for the culinary tip...but as I value my life and have been known to be unlucky, I left it EXACTLY where it was...which, ironically, was in the local graveyard! :?
Agree with Orol Andy. It looks very edible! Nothing that I can tell for sure without looking under the cap. But this one definitely looks like some kind of edible Boletus. Virtually all Boletuses are edible, with just few rare exceptions
