Beer fest Zilina 2008

Here are some photos from yesterday's festival of beer held in Zilina - Slovakia. I'm not a big fan of beer (strange to say this, because Czechs and Slovaks are known as a nation of beer drinkers), but I was there to meet some friends. And because my GRDII is always with me, I took few photos There were several bands playing some traditional, mainly folk songs or themes. But the band on the photos was quite different. If you know Goran Bregovic's Wedding & Funeral Band, then you will have a perfect idea what kind of music they played. It's a very nice mix of gipsy, folk and jazz music. And they were really good.

Do not like beer? My God, you need help!

Yes..I must be ill OK, I like beer, but only something called Velvet. It's a strong (5.3% of alcohol, sold in 0.4l cans) non-carbonized beer with creamy foam. It's not cheap but really great! But be careful about number of glasses you drink out! It will send you under the table in rather quick fashion, especially in hot summer months!
