Nice stuff Marcus. I like the 'Behind the scenes' photo for how the floor pulls you into the shot.
All the others are good too. But thats my fav.
How are you allowed to take a camera to a gallery ?

I agree, I find art gallery grabs interesting a side set to street images. I like #3, a classic.
I am a bit surprised you are allowed to use cameras, last time we were at Adelaide gallery it was not allowed - even without flash.

very fine set Marcus ... i do like them all as each have difference to offer - though the final image 'windows' comes top for me as when i initially saw it i did not notice the windows as an installation :) then the first image of the 'Viewer' came second for me but only because of the lady in the foreground , otherwise i found it to be most intriguing  , "think there is another taking photo's here too" .

thankyou also Marcus ;)

Kindest Regards - Kort .

:)

Hello Marcus,
a very interesting set of pictures. My favorite is "behind the scenes", (I do not know why, probably because it is "classic" ?).
And I had the same " feeling" as Kort already mentioned , when looking to "windows" for the first time. I needed a second view on it to recognize that its is an installation.
Looking to all the other visitors of the gallery, I guess that is was forbidden to take photos..?

Have a nice day,
JONIE

Thank you to everyone for the kind comments.....humbled to receive them all....

When I went to the Art Gallery last year for the Entombed Warriors exhibition(also previous times), the rule was you could not take photos...except in the main foyer and some other areas(mostly unknown and unsignposted and definitely no flash!).....Last weekend when I paid an impromptu visit the regulations had changed. Photos were pretty much encouraged...there was also a lot more security on the floors to enforce the 'no flash' rule.....
I didn't ask, but feel sure that the no photo rule would still apply to the 'travelling exhibits', such as the Picasso one coming soon, etc...

Yes, she was indeed!... :)..........BTW, a pleasure.

Marcus,
is there many "Photography art" images at the gallery? We only had a few here but they were exceptional in quality both in printing and composition.
There was a large display of daguerreotypes here some years back that I just had to go see.

Surprisingly Tim, the answer is yes. There is quite a large section comprised of(I would say) a couple of hundred images at least. Some wonderful stuff, appealing and inspiring to a broad range of fellow snappers I would imagine.... :D ...Personally though, on the day I was more focused on getting my own images of peoples interactions etc.... maybe next time I may try to keep the camera away from the eye a bit more!.. ;)
BTW, not many of the old/antique type images there, which I would be very interested in myself(I'm a bit old-fashioned!) :D
