I just received my GV-1 viewfinder today for my GRIII. Honestly, I'm not impressed. The view is darker than I expected and it suffers from extreme distortion at the edges. Construction is plastic including the accessory mount. Did I get a dud, or is this how they are supposed to be? I have owned external viewfinders in the past, and they were always sharp and made of metal.
P.S. Before I get burnt at the stake for daring to make my GRIII "bigger" with "so many accessories ", please keep in mind the following three things:
1. I use each of these accessories. Ricoh makes them. Ricoh sell them. I buy them.
2. Even with these added accessories, my GRIII is WAY smaller than my Sony A7c, Canon R6II, Canon 7dmk2, and OM System OM-5 with equivalent focal length lenses. Look at my pics below with my GRIII sitting next to my other cameras for comparison.
3. Just because you don't like the way my GRIII looks, I could care less. My goal is not to gain your approval, acceptance or permission. I like it and that's all that matters to me.
