Today Peter (Blow-in) and myself met on Rosemarkie Beach for a short stroll to discuss life and cameras. :D
However, we did remember to stop and take a few images and here are some of my attempts. Since I broke my VF-2 I am finding it harder to use the M-unit as focusing is much harder with the screen...but I try anyway! It has been one of THOSE weeks so far... :?

I suspect that the EXIF information is missing, but will retrieve it off the originals when I get a moment (still having problems with Elements 8) :x
Cheers!
Andy

Here are a few GRD5 shots (JPEGs) from the same walk on the beach....no match for Andy's GXR RAW shots and PP skills. I need to think a bit more about trying out some PP and perhaps shooting in RAW...

It sounds like you both had a great time resulting in some nice seascape views. Thanks for posting.

Fantastic twin sets! That's a photo finish! The best thing in any case is that it seems you both had a great time! ;)

Totally agree! And on here, the winner always RICOH! ;)
On the point of post-processing, in a way one is already developing and manipulating the 'raw' image output by using the inboard camera features such as b &w, high contrast, toy mode and so forth. The use of computer programmes is just a means of refining or extending this process. I confess to not knowing what a DNG file really was when I joined this forum back in 2009, but due to the help of people on here, and through a process of just trying things out to see what happens/what people think, I have much more confidence now: it has been a truely great experience. Thanks again to all guys and girls! :D

I never really knew about RAW files till I got my Olympus C5050. It took RAW but also tiff, which seems to have dropped off in modern cameras. Think of tiffs as uncompressed jpgs with white balance applied from the camera. I always wondered why they never stayed as a menu option, my guess is their size does not allow for fast saving.
