A few views of Yorkshire

Just a few shots - by way of introduction - which were taken almost a year ago on a weekend trip up to the National Media Museum in Bradford when I got my Leica M6 TTL. As a northerner (I'm from just outside Manchester and only live down south due to work bringing me here) I've known Bradford for most of my life and it is a shame that the place is so down at heel. Still, there are signs of regeneration and I hope they continue as it's a proud old city.

The lenses I got with it were 50mm f2 Summincron-M and 28mm f2.8 Elmarit-M. Film was Kodak Tri-x rated at 400 and processed commercially, scanned using my Epson V750. Vignettes / tones would be courtesy of Silver Efex Pro (though I wouldn't have used any film simulation effects at the same time).

Very atmospheric. I live in Leeds and know Bradford quite well. Most of the old mills are either flattened or repurposed as flats now. I bought quite a lot of timber from the yards there which sprang up to reclaim the excellent wood coming out of the mills which were demolished. Pitch pine, Russian and Columbian (Ca) pines of top quality, which I used in boat restoration work. I have some external views of Fountains and Bolton abbeys which I'll look for.

Paul, they are very nice shots and, quoting Rog, very atmospheric. I've been in Yorkshire couple of times, both for work and vacations, and believe it or not even traveling around the globe, this is one of my favorite places... I love England. Thank you for sharing.

I agree to Genster: my favorite is the last one, as well . A great atmosphere in all of the shots.
Thanks for that.

Cheers,
JONIE
