9th Ricoh photo contest! (01/06/2009 - 21/08/2009)

Ricoh Japan just today announced their 9th photo contest!

You will be able to submit your contest entries from 1st of June till 21st of August 2009 (how symbolic date for all Czech and Slovak folks).

The theme for this round is "Laughter".

Prizes:
Main Award: GR DIGITAL II + optional lenses and accessories (one person)
Special Award: GR DIGITAL II (5 persons)
Photo Style Award: CX1 (1 person)
Photo Style news Award: CX1 (1 person)
GR BLOG Award: GX200 (1 person)
GR DIGITAL 4 Anniversary Special Award: GB-1 GR Bag (1 person)
Award of Excellence: Special album (40 persons)
(*prizes may be the subject of change)

All 50 winning photos will be displayed in Ricoh RING CUBE gallery in Tokyo!

I've got a question from a reader that the Japanese page of Ricoh suggested that the theme of the contest was Smile instead of Laughter. I emailed the question to the inquiry account as given in the English press release, but the email was returned without being able to reach it. I have sought help from the Laikok people(official Ricoh dealer here) to forward the question to Ricoh.

Meanwhile, kindly let me(us) know if you manage to get an answer before I do.

BTW, I haven't been able to locate the "contest site" as referred to in the press release. Any idea?

(Oh, congrats for the MAC. Great stuff. ;) )
 
Any winners here? Just today I got an email from jury that my photo is unfortunately not a "winner" ;) But I'm sure someone else here got in?

BTW, what was your entries anyway? I tried my luck with this one...

Although your photo was not selected, you are certainly welcome to attend the Photo Contest Exhibition. Please see below for details.
We are looking forward to seeing you at the venue.

* Transportation expenses to the venue and lodging expenses shall be paid by the attendee.

# An invitation to the 5th Ricoh Photo Contest Exhibition
The exhibition will be held at RING CUBE, which is located at Ginza 4-chome intersection, Tokyo, from Monday, October 7 to Sunday, November 1.
We will exhibit 50 of the prize-winning photos.
