8bit or 16bit

Hi,
Anyone with experience of this product. Please can you advise as to whether there is much ( any ) real practical difference between 16-bit image support and the 8-bit image support as there is quite a difference in the price.

I use Noise Ninja all the time when I shoot high ISO with my GX200. Can't see any difference between 16 bit and 8 bit.
