I joined here just a little over 7 years ago, when my GRD II was brand new. I was active for a couple of years before getting sidetracked by various other camera models... and have returned to the fold only just now after buying a GR. A big leap in features between the 2 and the "5", to be sure - but how easy it was to slip back into using the modern model despite all those years of tweaks and enhancements; everything is exactly where I expected it to be.
I spent a day online today searching for a soft pouch for the GR, since the GC-2 that came with the GRD2 doesn't quite accommodate it. I didn't find anything I really liked, but then went down to the basement where all my old cameras go to retire, where I discovered that the soft case for the Contax T-2 is a perfect fit for the GR! I know this topic has probaby been done to death, but just in case anyone has an old T-2 (or, probably, a T or T-3), and still looking for a nice, non-bulky pouch for your GR... check it out.
I'll be back with some pictures soon; so far I only have pictures of cats and fruit bowls from the new camera.
