Hi Jorge and welcome here! Nice shot, but I strongly suspect it would look even better in color? All these small shiny objects and interior light... Did you try it in color?

Thanks! Now comparing both color and sepia version, I prefer the sepia one ;) But I think it's because of a bit cold colors/white balance. I think that if you do a color boost, fix WB + add a light touch of vignette effect, you will get a stunning photo?

Pavel,

Thanks, as i said i am playing with ligthroom and silkypix. So i need to experiment. I will try to follow your advice.

Cheers

I too like the sepia version of Jorge's picture better.

Here's a picture of mine from Feb 21. As you can see Stockholm has a big problem with black market apartments. ;-)

Thanks Pavel.
The black building is a bit surrealistic. I don't know what's on it, but I guess they will cover it with something more normal-looking later.

Might make an interesting photo after the scaffolding has gone.

Your photo is great!
I love that kind of slightly irritating photos. At first look it just shows a black building, but there is something wrong and you don't realise what it is. My theroy is that the is no depth despite the geometry of the building. It looks totally 2D. The picture of the building shows no typical color gradient. Even the street does not help to give you an 3D impression. In contrast, the scaffolding in front of the building is full of light reflections which means that there is direct sunlight to produce a 3D impression as opposed to ambient light.

Cheers, Markus

Thanks Markus! I guess you're right, there are no color gradients, not even shadows. I took two pictures of the building, but there was a car on the other one, and from the car's shadow one can see that the sun is high and slightly to the right behind me. It is almost possible to see a shadow from the big orange/white elevator-thing on the wall, but it sort of disappears in all the black. Quite strange. Maybe I got a "flash-flatness" from the sun? Of course I didn't see any of this myself, I just thought is was a cool black building. It's great to read what other people see. Thanks!
